Nicely packaged, perfect fit and all that, but.... The protective cover on the bottom of the drum is the same color as the drum, i.e. you don't know it's even there, esp. in a dimly lit computer room. Finally pulled the drum out, shined a flashlight into the well, and then noticed the protective covering stuck deep inside the printer, blocking the laser window. Pulled it out of the well, replaced the drum and then everything was fine. A small suggestion then: Why not make the bottom protective cover on the drum in something other than a black colour? A bright yellow or red would do the trick, something to alert the eye at it's there in the first place, esp. in dim light. ( Yes, there' some printing on the protective cover, but it's only visible when you're looking at the *back* side of the drum I believe. I maintain that most everybody's attentions will be focused on the front and top of the unit.)I'm sure that I'm not the only one who's had the problem of not seeing it. And let's face it, it's a bit traumatic to spend $100 or so on a drum and some toner only to think straightaway that monies might have been wasted. Rending of garments, pulling of hair, gnashing of teeth.... Anyway, it's a potential no-cost improvement worthy of your consideration, esp. since drum replacement is not an everyday event and, though otherwise easy, has an element of uncertainty, anxiousness and anticipation attached to it.
