Many consumers are worried if the use of compatible or aftermarket printing supplies will void their printer's warranty. The answer is no.
More simply put, this means that your printer warranty cannot be voided just because you choose to use compatible products unless the manufacturer can prove that the compatible product caused direct damage to your printer. In cases such as this, the manufacturer may choose not to repair your printer but your warranty would remain in effect for all other warranty issues.

How do I change the ink in my Epson XP 446?
To change the Epson XP-446 ink cartridges, follow these steps:
1. Make sure your XP-446 printer is powered on.
2. Lift the top of the printer or your scanner unit up. This will expose the printhead inside.
3. Squeeze the top of the ink cartridge you are to replace. Once it's released, carefully pull it upwards and out of the printhead.
4. Remove packaging from your new Epson XP-446 ink replacement.
5. Insert replacement into the recently vacated spot by the empty cartridge. Check the orientation to make sure it's the same as the other cartridges.
6. Gently push cartridge down to lock it in place. The new ink cartridge should be in the same level as the other cartridges, not higher or misaligned.
7. Close the top of the printer or the scanner unit.
